In the heart of the Crau Plain: MAS CÉLESTE – where pastoral life meets architecture and design
A UNESCO World Heritage city, Arles also hides a little-known treasure: the Crau Plain, a remarkable rural landscape that has preserved its authentic pastoral traditions.
Protected as a Natura 2000 site, this unique landscape is made up of vast grazing meadows framed by the distant Alpilles, tree-lined hedgerows sculpted by the Mistral wind and charming villages rich in architectural heritage.
Mas Céleste feels wonderfully secluded, surrounded by nature, yet it is only a short drive from some of Provence's most beautiful destinations: Arles, the capital of the Camargue, Maussane-les-Alpilles, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Aix-en-Provence, as well as Nîmes and Avignon.
It is the perfect peaceful retreat to discover the beauty of Provence and its vibrant cultural scene while taking time to admire spectacular sunrises and sunsets across the plain, relax by the swimming pool, unwind beneath the shade of the magnolia tree and enjoy the songs and graceful flight of wild birds, including storks and egrets.
A refined blend of architecture and comfort
Inside, Mas Céleste offers a subtle balance between contemporary design and natural materials. The spacious 120 m² interiors are filled with natural light and open generously onto the surrounding landscape. Stone, wood and lime blend harmoniously with steel and concrete, creating an elegant and timeless atmosphere.
The décor moves away from traditional Provençal clichés in favour of a distinctive contemporary style. Carefully selected designer furniture and decorative pieces enhance the architecture while maintaining a warm and understated elegance.
Two elegant suites
The house comfortably accommodates up to four guests and includes a fully equipped kitchen, a furnished terrace and a sheltered patio protected from both wind and sun.
Each of the two air-conditioned suites has its own personality, private bathroom and separate toilet.
The ground-floor suite opens directly onto the garden and features a cosy reading corner beside a large picture window. Its open-plan bathroom combines minimalist design with everyday comfort.
Upstairs, the second suite enjoys beautiful views over the Alpilles, a comfortable reading area and a colourful bathroom bathed in the morning light—an ideal place to watch the sunrise.
Swimming pool
The large 15 × 4 metre swimming pool is located beside the owners' residence. Surrounded by lush greenery and bordered with beautiful Provençal stone, it offers a refreshing oasis throughout the day.
Sun loungers and pool towels are provided for guests. The swimming pool is shared with the owners and is available to guests staying at Mas Céleste daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
