Bonjour & Welcome to the Old Presbytery

Our restored 18th‑century presbytery in the heart of Bordeaux’s countryside. We invite you to our guesthouse that celebrates warmth and inclusivity — a peaceful retreat for adults (18+), dog‑friendly (of course), and proudly welcoming LGBTQ+ guests.

We have five guest rooms and one apartment, each offering you a truly restful night’s sleep — with super king‑size beds (or twins, if you prefer), ensuite bathrooms, and doors that open onto private terraces. The apartment offers a little more room to stretch out, with two terraces — one for sunrise, one for sunset — overlooking the orchard and our pool.

You’ll sleep in organic cotton bed linen, with soft organic towels and eco‑friendly toiletries waiting in the bathroom.

More than a place to stay — it’s where you slow down. Here you’ll find space to breathe, room to roam, and time to truly unwind.

Explore medieval villages, sip wine in Saint‑Émilion, or nap beneath our 300‑year‑old cedar trees — peace and privacy come naturally.

We care deeply about sustainable travel. From solar power to composting, filtered water and reusable bottles, we keep things simple and low‑impact. Here, sustainability isn’t a slogan — it’s how we live.

Whether you want to move, swim, or simply exhale — we’ve created spaces to help you recharge.

Our heated 10m salt‑water pool with counter‑current, and bikes are ready for you.

Our gym and yoga studio, in a converted pigsty, also include an infrared sauna.

Our food is homemade, seasonal, and nourishing — because good nutrition is true wellbeing.

Just 30 minutes from Bergerac and 1 hour from Bordeaux, we’re surrounded by vineyards, medieval villages, and the slow rhythm of rural life.

This is our home, and we’re delighted to share it with you.

« Idéalement situé entre St Emilion et Bergerac pour une étape ou pour un long séjour, Wayne et David vous accueillerons très chaleureusement même avec votre animal de compagnie. La maison d’hôte offre une ambiance de charme et une excellente prestation avec entre autres une piscine chauffée et une salle de billard. Elle se situe sur le chemin de Compostelle, vous risquez donc de croiser des pèlerins. Nous reviendrons … à bientôt. »

« One of the most enchanting trips I've taken in recent years was to the Old Presbytery, thanks to the exceptional hospitality of David and Wayne. They truly went above and beyond to create a magical experience for my partner and I . The property is perfectly located, just a stone's throw from Bergerac Airport and about an hour from Bordeaux, nestled amidst picturesque vineyards and chateaus. Our stay began with a rejuvenating Thai massage, which set the perfect tone for our getaway. The weather was absolutely divine, allowing us to fully enjoy the pool and the romantic views of the valley. Each evening, we were treated to breathtaking sunsets from the terrace, where we savored delicious food and fine wine. We stayed in the apartment suite, a cozy one-bedroom space complete with a kitchen and living room, offering direct access to the pool. During our time there, Wayne graciously invited us to sample his homemade elderflower vodka, a delightful highlight of our trip. This idyllic escape provided the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of city life, and we are already looking forward to returning. Thank you, David and Wayne, for your wonderful hospitality and your unwavering dedication to creating such a tranquil gem. »

« What a wonderful place. Building itself is a restoration marvel that is homely, warm and welcoming. It has a wonderful pool, stunning view and well equipped yoga studio that can also be used as a gym. Not to mention they also have a infra red sauna, that just does wonders to my bad back. David and Wayne are amazing hosts, they always go an extra mile to make everyone's stay memorable. I am a regular guest, I try to come at least once or twice a year. I always look forward to their crips and fresh linen on their beds! I like the fact that there is a option to have some food, David is an amazing cook, and its so nice to have the option of staying in for a whole day without the necessity of driving to local restaurants. The place is a slice of heaven everyone must experience! »

How to describe “paradise”? How to evaluate “new friends”? It feels like that is what we are supposed to do in this review, and that’s “not done”. The location is stunning, the premises impeccable, plenty of excellent food&wine in the region. The kind of quality you hope for on your vacation, but rarely find. Apart from the excellent breakfast and comfortable room, the “Old Presbytery” offers free car battery charge (on solar panels), a 5 x 10 meter pool equipped with a counter-current engine, electric bikes, fast internet, …you see : The Old Presbytery is everything but “Old”! The hosts Wayne and David told us they never spent a vacation in a B&B or Gîte, and yet they are able to offer one of the best B&B’s we’ve ever been to in 30 years. The only thing that needs improving is Wayne’s “French”, but he’s working on it (that’s what he says …) Dirk & Bert (Brussels), May 2023 »

« We had a marvelous stay for four days at the Old Presbytery. Wayne and David are excellent hosts, and the B&B is located at a very quiet and beautiful place and with lots of interesting sightseeing possibilities in the area. The room is spacious and convenient and we enjoyed the salt-water pool very much. We also really enjoyed the great meals that David served during our stay – he is an excellent cook! »

« We stayed for two nights and wish we had stayed a bit longer. The accommodation is first rate; clean and comfortable. The hosts, Wayne and David, couldn't have been friendlier or more welcoming. Breakfast was good and tailored to what we wanted. Although they do not offer table d'hote, we did have a sharing plate on one of the evenings that we were there, which really was very good and sufficient for us. The stay was everything that we wanted and we have no hesitancy in recommending it. »
