Encamp is located in the geographical centre of Andorra and provides the closest ski link for the capital Andorra la Vella. Getting to the ski slopes is done by boarding the eye catching Funicamp cable car, a six kilometre long ride along the Enradort pass which whisks you up to the Solanelles sector in the heart of the Grandvalira ski domain.

Grandvalira is now the largest ski area in the Pyrenees and is still growing. It currently offers 193km of pistes spread over 110 runs supported efficiently by a network of 64 lifts accessible through a hands-free lift pass.

Encamp possesses some of the best cultural heritage in Andorra. At ‘Les Bons' you can see the remains of an old medieval town including the ‘Baño de la Reina Mora' (the Moorish Queen's Bath) excavated from the rock. The Romanesque church of Sant Romà Les Bons was built in 1164 and is also built into the rock. Several of the original Romanesque frescos are now in the National Museum of Catalonian Art in Barcelona. Other delightful buildings include old farm houses of stone, wood and slate construction, a reflection of Andorra's bygone age.

Encamp is also the site of several interesting museums including Cal Cristo - a traditional 19th century Andorran middleclass house, the National Automobile Museum - a trip through the history of self-propulsion. The oldest exhibit is a steam car dating from 1898. Created with donations from private collectors, it is considered to be one of the most important in Europe. The Museum of Sacred Art is installed in a building adjoining the Romanesque church of Santa Eulalia de Encamp, the town parish church and largest 12th century church built in Andorra.

In summer be sure to take the leisurely walk up to the picturesque Engolasters Lake. There is a lakeside restaurant for refreshments. Continuing your journey you can also enjoy the tranquility of the beautiful Molleres forest followed by stunning panoramic views over Escaldes and Andorra-la-Vella.

For après-ski and leisure time the Encamp Sports Complex includes a gymnasium, heated swimming pool and sauna. Encamp itself remains peaceful at night allowing tranquil, relaxing evenings if desired. Being close to the bright lights and party atmosphere of the capital Andorra la Vella however means visitors can choose to revel until the early hours nearby.
