Milan, Como and Varese are about 1 hour and 30 minutes away by car. Milan Malpensa Airport is about one hour away by car. Lake Maggiore and the Gulf of Stresa are famous for the beautiful Borromean Islands, the renowned gardens of Villa Taranto, and the countless walks and excursions that can be enjoyed in the surrounding area. From Ghiffa, at least six lakes in the subalpine region are easily accessible. Monte Rosa, the second-highest mountain in Europe, and the distinctive Toce Waterfalls, among the highest in Europe with a drop of around 140 metres, are just over an hour away by car.
