Located in the heart of the historic Marais district, close to the Picasso Museum, Bastille, République and the Seine, next to rue de Bretagne and the famous Marché des Enfants Rouges, full of charming restaurants and excellent cheesemongers. Bakeries, wine shops, grocery stores, pharmacies and cafés are just a few blocks away from the rue de Bretagne apartment. Some stores carry prestigious names such as Pierre Hermé or Kenzo. But there are also less sophisticated shops, just as nice.
“A charming and romantic apartment (old Paris style with oriental touches), welcoming and well equipped,” a recent guest told me. It is also naturist.
I can host 2 people in addition to myself. I prefer to host just one person.
The apartment is on the fifth floor, with double exposure and lots of East/West sunlight. Please note that there is no elevator, as is often the case in historic Marais buildings.
Windows on both sides let in sunlight and a breeze when opened. For summer, there is a very efficient fan.
The 2-room apartment is shaped like a large L. 42 square meters in total. New and very comfortable bed 100*200 in the living room, which offers a large space. Access to the bathroom is through my bedroom. Being on the 5th floor, it is very sunny and quiet. No elevator, so sporty types only!
The floor is terracotta.
Buses, metro, “Velib” (bike rental), Autolib’ (electric car rental) and shops are at the corner of the street.
The neighborhood is very pleasant, this part of the Marais being a little less touristy than others, although overtourism threatens here too. There are very beautiful parks nearby, especially on rue Payenne. This is the Marais of the grand 17th and 18th century mansions. I’m more of an expert in gardens and quiet places than in bars, gay or not!
Metro and buses are 2 minutes away. The Marché des Enfants Rouges offers great little restaurants.
I live and work in this apartment. Please note that after 10 a.m. I may need to open the windows and curtains to start my day normally :-). You may not be able to sleep much longer at that point! I hope this doesn’t bother you. Keep this in mind when booking. I only host people who use the night for sleeping, not for partying.
This is a private home. If you use a glass or anything else, please wash it.
It will not be possible to cook here, please be aware when booking.
I have a Japanese toilet system that works very well. Don’t hesitate to ask me, it’s much better than paper :)
