For the adventurous traveler the area provides a multitude of outside activities starting right at our doorstep. No matter if you look for relaxation or adventure - a stay at Villa Barca won't disappoint you.
Just 20 minutes by car are the sandy beaches of Alassio, one of Italy's most mundane seaside resorts. The Lerrone Valley offers all kinds of outdoor activities, from hiking and mountain biking to laid-back picknick hours. For the more leisurely tourist the Ligurian coast shows itself as a true treasure box: cozy little seaside towns, steep mountain passes that lead to old, medieval villages and the famous Via Aurelia that brings you straight to the chic Corniche of France's Cote d 'Azur, where you can explore along the road famous places like Menton, Monte Carlo and Nice.
After a day full of activities VILLA BARCA awaits its guests with the unique atmosphere that this retreat has to offer. The Villa sits on 15.000 square meters of Mediterranean garden and olive growth. On clear days we can see across the Mediterranean sea and look as far as La Spezia and Cinque Terre on the other side of the Golf of Genua.
A unique part of Villa Barca is the old church that sits adjacent to the main building. Erected in the 1700s and modernized by the original owner of the Villa it is now hosting our "room of stillness". A quiet place to meditate, practice Yoga or just enjoy the luxury of tranquility. You can also schedule energy treatments such as Reiki and other holistic treatments during your stay to enhance the perfect balance of body and mind.
Relaxation with a view: That’s what our guest can expect in our tranquil sauna-garden. Whether dozing in the sun by the heated infinity pool, taking a refreshing footbath, an energizing shower in our grotto, or soaking in our plunge pool - you will always have commanding views of the valley down to the Mediterranean sea. APARTMENTS
Only a few steps from the main Villa, walking through the enchanted honeysuckle pergola you will reach the old caretaker’s cottage, situated within our historic country estate. Based on the original blueprints of a humble, Ligurian adobe we have created a wonderful, traditional home built from regional stones. Opulent French doors and windows enjoy spectacular views towards the Mediterranean Sea and sometimes even beyond to the coastline of Cinque Terre.
The furnished suite will offer our guests comfort, space and privacy to enjoy their vacation. As the sun rises, the Foresteria is illuminated by the golden glow of the first rays which you can enjoy right from your comfortable bed. Wonderful paintings created at Villa Barca by German artist Heidrun Brocker accent the walls and pull in the ever-present nature as the main focal point.
The Foresteria-suites feature well equipped kitchens, inviting you to cook the sumptuous delicacies that you may have found at the local farmers markets or in the small shops of the valley. Start your day indulging in the breathtaking views in the privacy of your own patio. Even during cooler times you can enjoy the vista from behind the panoramic windows while sitting next to the comfortable pellet fireplace

VILLAGE HOUSE - IL POGGIOLO
Just 150 meters from the Villa, at the edge of the small hamlet Case Soprane, you will find the village house "Ca' dei Merli". Once home to a family of farmers, the shoemaker and seamstress of the village, it now hosts the home restaurant "Ü Baregu" as well as two comfortable vacation rentals.Please note that the village house is not part of the Villa Barca complex. Therefore amenities offered by Villa Barca (Pool, Wellness area etc.) are not offered to guests staying at "Ca´ dei Merli". Situated between a romantic courtyard and Mediterranean gardens the newly renovated apartment "Il Poggiolo" features a well equipped kitchen and wonderful bedroom with a beautiful, spacious bathroom with walk-in shower just across the hall. The living room offers a daybed and an adjacent, large balcony with views down the valley all the way to the Mediterranean sea. The garden area invites with chaise lounges, dining table and sumptuous outdoor shower.
