Peru is a spectacular country with much to offer tourists and travellers. There are the well-known destinations like Cuzco and Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Nazca Lines, Paracas, and the Amazon Rainforest. Less well-known but equally worth a visit if time allows are the highest passenger railway in the world between Lima and Huancayo, the snow-capped peaks of the Cordillera Blanca near Huaraz, the amazing pre-Inca Kuelap fortress near Chachapoyas, and the gold treasure of Sipan near Chiclayo.

Although there's no law against homosexuality, the machismo principle still rules in Peru, and gays and lesbians tend to keep a very low profile. But there are signs things are changing. Notably, Reserv Cusco, has been making a determined effort to attract gay and lesbian tourists.
