Situated in the heart of the Cahors wine region, the estate nestles between the meanders of the Lot River and covers some 70 hectares.
Its soil of clay-and-limestone and siliceous clay has everything in its favour for the production of quality wine, allowing the wine maker to become a craftsman of time through each vintage. Every aspect of work strives to obtain a perfect balance between soil and man, while also meeting the standards necessary for the High Environmental Value certificate, Level 3, the highest level of environmental certification.
Inspired by his studies in Burgundy and Sabine’s Burgundian origins (she was born in Beaune in the centre of the Côte d’Or wine producing region) Jean-Luc seeks to bring out the various characteristics of the grapes in each plot, covering the 2nd, 3rd and 4th terraces, always in search of excellence.

Jean-Luc Baldès has developed a wide selection of wines, each one of which is as audacious as the next: amongst the reds which are all based on the characteristic malbec grape you will find the remarkable New Black Wine, the prestigious Probus, the Trilogie selection, the classic Clos Triguedina... and the surprising vins du pays include rosé, sweet and dry white wines without forgetting Bul’s the very first sparkling malbec rosé and Black Vintage a pure malbec fortified wine! Top names in the restaurant world serve Clos Triguedina’s wines, providing a superb showcase for the estate, and they are also to be found in important institutions in France (such as the Presidential Palace, Ministries, the Senate, the National Assembly and Michelin starred restaurants).

Clos Triguedina has also received labels (Vignobles & Découvertes, Qualité Tourisme) rewarding the quality of their tourism activities. Jean-Luc and Sabine Baldès and their team will for sure welcome you warmly with tailor-made offers.

Famille Baldès

Clos Triguedina has been the cradle of the Baldès family since 1830. It has a rich heritage based on the history of men and women. Pilgrims on the Santiago di Compostella route would often stop there to eat («me trigo de dina» in the Occitan language of southwest France means «I am looking forward to dinner»). The Baldès family have, for their part, built up Clos Triguedina by passing on their knowledge, determination and passion from one generation to the next. Their pioneering spirit means they are recognised as one of the founding families of the Cahors wine region (A.O.C.). Jean-Luc Baldès, together with his wife Sabine, continues the work of his forebears; he has forged himself a reputation as «the master of malbec». Juliette Baldès, their daughter, made up her mind at the age of 5 to become a wine producer and to continue the Baldès family tradition at Clos Triguedina.
